Hugh visited Madginford Park Infant School. He had a meeting regarding travellers and also met up with the Geraldine Allison, Chairman of the KM Group.
Hugh visited Madginford Park Infant School to unveil the Eco-schools Green Flag that they had been award. The Eco-Schools Green Flag Award “symbolizes excellence in the field of environmental activity”. Hugh said a big thank you and well done to all the children and staff who supported the Eco-Schools initiatives. These included efforts to reduce the amount of energy used, reduce the amount of rubbish sent to landfill by recycling as much as possible and the adoption of an “environmentally friendly” approach to our surroundings and globally.
Hugh hosted a meeting with Headcorn Parish Council, Boughton Monchelsea Parish Council, KCC and Maidstone Borough Council to discuss the situation regarding travellers in the Parishes of Headcorn and Boughton Monchelsea. Rob Jarman, Chief Planning Officer for MBC, was in attendance. A lot of time was spent talking about Rt Hon Eric Pickles’ paper on the subject.
Geraldine Allison, Chairman of the KM Group, visited Hugh’s new offices in Lenham to update him on media activity and issues in the Faversham and Mid Kent Constituency and, more generally, Kent.
Hugh had a full surgery this week and dealt with a variety of issues raised by his constituents.
