In October the The Local Government Boundary Commission published revised proposals for new Parliamentary constituencies in England. These revised proposals will be consulted on until 10th December 2012.
Hugh's reaction to the proposed changes to his Constituency was, 'Whilst no MP would want to loose their seat, particularly when it is where you grew up, in common with all other Conservative candidates at the last General Election, I did stand on a manifesto of reducing the number of MPs. In a time of national austerity, we should have fewer MPs so today's announcement, whilst unwelcome for me personally, is the correct outcome'.
